We’re very pleased to announce that our app is nearing completion and will soon be available in the App Store on both iOS (iPhone & iPad), Google Play (Android) and via an HTML5 Web App.
Above, you can see how it looks on an iPhone 5 and you’ll be able to get the latest news, events, features, travel and much more in the palm of your hand.
Push notifications are also included (which can be turned off) regarding breaking news and travel information for the City of Bath.
We’re adding an app to our variety of mediums so you can find out the local news simply and easily without having to go and visit our website on your device.
While we have been creating our app, we’ve also been having the decorators in for nowbath.co.uk and this new design and feel will be unveiled very soon!
We’ve been very lucky to have Twitter grant us permission to show summaries of our news articles when they are tweeted by us and other tweeters on Twitter.
When you now click on a tweet on the site with one of our links in, you’ll automatically be given a summary of the story and a picture if one is included.

This helps to give us credit as the author of the article as well if the person who has tweeted the link has not mentioned @NOWBath.
You’ll be able to view summaries from today onwards, and we very much hope they’ll be useful when you’re visiting our Twitter page.
What’s going on?
As NOW Bath has grown, so has the website and the number of visitors we are getting every day.
We’re changing the provider of the hosting for our nowbath.co.uk website (and the NOW Bath Card website) to provide a more reliable and faster website for you to use.
We’re doing this gradually over the next week (10.1.13 - 17.1.13), to reduce the amount of any downtime that may occur, with most of the work taking place between 9pm and 6am when our website is least used.
Why are you changing?
The amount of traffic we are receiving has meant that sometimes our website becomes unavailable to access (with error messages etc.) or extremely slow.
After much consultation with our current provider, we are switching to a new company (Vidahost - who used to be based in Bath!) to provide the behind-the-scenes for the website.
Will it affect my usage?
We will be doing the changeover gradually, and at times when the website is least used.
Will any of the content change?
The websites will remain exactly the same for the time being, though we are in the stages of designing a new site which we hope to unveil early this year.
Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause, we’re doing our best to make NOW Bath the best it can be for the residents of Bath.

What’s happening?
Our NOW Bath websites http://www.nowbath.co.uk and http://card.nowbath.co.uk will be temporarily unavailable on Sunday 18th November due to some upgrades and some essential maintenance.
Normal website service will be resumed on Monday 19th November.
Why is it unavailable?
We’re installing some new security into the website (so you’ll have the option of always being even more safely connected) and this will involve taking it offline for a few hours.
We’re also adding some new features such as this year’s NOW Bath Advent Calendar which will be added while the security is being installed.
Promotional Roller Banner for NOW Bath
Our designers came up with this great little pull up roller banner emphasising what NOW Bath is all in a two metre roll of material! We’re all about you, the Bath community, so be sure to look for us when you’re around Bath.

We’ve had a tiny bit of a makeover on the website, making things a bit more cleaner and changing a few colours - hope you all like!

Back in February 2010 when we started, our website looked a bit like this! How times have changed!
